Flip HD rocks!

I went to Japan a couple of weeks back and saw this “Flip” looking like device. I forgot the brand but it sure does look like a Flip immitation. Anyway, the item was on sale at 4,999 Yen (Roughly 2,500 pesos).

I didn’t buy it because it just has a 1.3megapixel resolution and that would mean that my camera phone takes better photos and videos than that one.

Just a few minutes ago, I saw this Flip HD in engadget. BOY! Did I make the right decision not buying that!

I’m going to wait for awhile and check out feedbacks of this gadget first before purchasing this :)

Sony Ericsson w760i semi-review

My first impression.
This is not a phone that I would even consider buying. The motion sensor gaming isn’t a selling point for me. If I want a motion sensing game machine, I would rather go for the iPhone.

First few minutes
After switching it on for a few minutes, I, as usual wasn’t impressed. I was like, “Ok, just another slide-up phone. What’s the big deal?”

The looks
I took the phone, looked at it closely, feeling the metalic-like casing material and immediately thought that this phone is going to be very interesting!

Highlights:
1. GPS (you can actually check out your current location!!!) Very cool!
2. HSDPA internet connection
3. Beautiful elegant design
4. Easier mobile blogging experience
5. 2gb m2 memory card included!
6. Auto-rotating screen (like iPhone! in selected programs)
7. Affordable at only around 12,500 pesos!

Downside:

1. Battery life not so good for wholeday internet HSDPA browsing
2. Not touch screen (this would be almost perfect with a touch screen feature!)

From 300,000 to 500,000 in Just One Day!

Just yesterday, I made a post about 300,000 forecasted to be jobless. This morning, the forecast is at 500,000 already!!! (Read more: 500,000 Pinoys to lose jobs )

Wow! That is a lot. half a million people going jobless can’t be right. Again, this will cause a domino effect. -They don’t have money to buy thnings-Producers and retailers won’t earn therefore, they won’t have the purchasing power-factories will cut more costs and downsize-and the cycle goes on!

Amidst the economic crisis, one would think if business owners are really facing financial difficulties or are they just making this as an excuse. As a business owner, I personally can’t do such. It is against my conscience and principles but seeing a lot of brand new expensive luxury cars around the metro makes you think twice. Is is really happening?

Mobile phone sales are down to it’s lowest according to a store I interviewed in Greenhills. They had zero sales for the last 2 days — not even a Globe 300 call card load or a 15 peso Smart Buddy load was bought from them.

But again, it maybe just a trend because now, people prefer to invest in netbooks and laptops and use ordinary phones because it is more “economical”. You can earn more using a laptop rather than a mobile phone, don’t you think? You can be a load retailer when you have a phone but, you can do and earn more using a laptop. (like typing jobs, graphic design, web design and more!)

Just the other day, Sony Vaio P was launched here in the Philippines and according to them, it has a limited stock now because of the demand for it. So, are you sure there is a crisis or is this just an excuse?

New Showbiz Website in the Philippines - launched!

I would like to personally make a semi-review of it.

From the first time I laid eyes (ang drama) on it, it caught my attention. It has a nice blend of color (Designer ba?), Layout looks similar to a showbiz magazine and best of all, it’s a free source for your entertainment needs!

Here is their logo:

This is one of their articles…

Cesar Montano and Sunshine Cruz were sighted in Podium, Ortigas on January 14, 2009. Just a concrete proof that the two is happily back together again after all the shambles in their married life last year.

New Macbook with NVIDIA graphics at $999!

The image “http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/10/ledmacbookfinalfinal2-(1).jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
The New Apple LED Macbook (Photo album)

Wow! Equipped with NVIDIA 9400M graphics, this baby is sure to knock you off your feet! They claim that the battery life is up to 5 hours but, I will still wait for futher reviews by other bloggers.

Fancy stuffs include a backlit keyboard, glass trackpad and of course, the glowing apple at the back. It is also said to be 0.5 pounds lighter than his predecessor.

According to Gizmodo,

The base model weighs in at $1299 with a 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor, while $1599 gets you 4GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD. There’s also an SSD option if you’re really looking to splurge. If none of the new speed or style appeals to you, Apple’s also slashing its existing low-end MacBook to $999, which is still a bit steep if you ask us. Hit the jump for a breakdown of the configurations.

This is one gadget that I am looking forward to have. Third apple products actually.
1. Time Capsule
2. iPod
3. Macbook

Hoping to get one from parents although the first one would be purchased, according to my dad, soon.
*Fingers-crossed*

Mobile Phone with 8.1 Megapixel camera

Sony Ericsson is the first one to break through the 5 mp camera phone barrier.

Click the image to know more about the Sony Ericsson C905

Some of the features found in most high-end Cybershot digital cameras were embedded in the C905. It has Xenon flash, face detection, auto-focus, smart contrast, red eye reduction and image stabilizer. It has digital zoom up to 16 times, better than the current up to 12 time digital zoom available in regular 8.1 megapixel cameras.

It has 2.4 inch display made from scratch resistant mineral glass, also the same size as the screen of most digital cameras. With the WiFi connectivity, it’s easier to upload photos to blogs and websites. It even supports TV output.

With the impressive camera features on board the C905, it’s easy to forget that it’s actually a phone. But the good things that we’ve all grown to love in a reliable multimedia phone are also in the C905.There’s FM radio, video recording and streaming, sound recording, video calling, web browsing and push email.

Further spicing up this phone is the HSDPA feature, GPS and geo tagging functions. This will be available sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.

I just hope this reaches the local market in time for the Christmas season. If that happens, the C905 undoubtedly will place high in the most wanted Christmas wish list.

New Nokia e61 and e77 phones released [with photos]

According to AFP, Finnish telecom giant Nokia has launched two new email-capable handsets for business users and vowed to defend its position as the world’s leading mobile phone maker.

Nokia said the E71 and E66 were pre-loaded with Microsoft’s popular email programme and would cater to business professionals who wanted easy and instant access to their messages.

“With the E series, we want to serve people who are passionate about their work,” said Chris Carr, Nokia’s vice president for regional sales, at a launch in Singapore late Monday.

The two phones would be available in July and support email accounts from key Internet service providers such Yahoo! and Google’s Gmail, the firm said.

An Early Decision Making Mistake

Last saturday, February 23,2008.

After watching a movie at Greenhills, I have this scheduled meeting with a seller. I bought a pre-loved Sony Ericsson m600i.

http://www.smartdevicesdirect.com/sddcouk/images/sony-erisson-M600i.jpg
Specifications of the Sony Ericsson M600i

Sony Ericsson M600i review - by AFP

***Why this purchase was a mistake…
Since this is a pre-loved (pre-owned, second hand) phone, You can’t expect it to be ike brand new. Yes, I anticipated slight scratches and minor phone casing defects (nicks, bumps etc) but, it was my bad I didn’t check it well. There was something wrong with the lower right touch screen sensitive part. (Which, I already had it fixed now.).

Another thing, this morning, when I was browsing Ebay, I saw a cheaper SE M600i, almost same price as mine, but, complete!!! I bought mine not including a SE m2 1gb memory stick and headset. That unit has!

Anyway, PATIENCE is a virtue.

Overall, I am still happy with the phone because I can’t do anything about it. I am an optimistic person. Also, I sold one of my Oakley Juliet’s last night.

*Happy*

Anyway, guys, for Gadget reviews, specification of mobile phones, laptops etc, just go to Yehey! Gadgets.
