International MMS service from Smart

If you want to know how to use the international MMS from Smart, please see below:
http://conec-inc.com/pics/Smart_logo.JPG

SMART subscribers in the Philippines can send a photo or video via MMS to family members abroad by keying in the country code + area code + mobile number.  International MMS costs P20 per message for prepaid subscribers and P15 for postpaid subscribers.

The recipient abroad immediately receives an SMS notification that allows him to retrieve the MMS via mobile phone or an Internet-connected PC or laptop. The SMS notification contains the sender’s mobile number, a URL where the MMS is embedded as well as the MMS’ ID number.

To retrieve the MMS via mobile phone, the recipient abroad can click on the provided URL directly, where he keys in the ID number.

I love the Philippines! — Vinta

Vinta

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The vinta ( locally known as lepa-lepa or sakayan) is a traditional boat found in the Philippine island of Mindanao. These boats are made by Bajau and Moros lining in the Sulu Archipelago. It has a sail with assorted vertical colors that represents the colorful culture and history of the Muslim community. These boats are used for inter-island transport of people and goods. Zamboanga City is known for these vessels.

From 300,000 to 500,000 in Just One Day!

Just yesterday, I made a post about 300,000 forecasted to be jobless. This morning, the forecast is at 500,000 already!!! (Read more: 500,000 Pinoys to lose jobs )

Wow! That is a lot. half a million people going jobless can’t be right. Again, this will cause a domino effect. -They don’t have money to buy thnings-Producers and retailers won’t earn therefore, they won’t have the purchasing power-factories will cut more costs and downsize-and the cycle goes on!

Amidst the economic crisis, one would think if business owners are really facing financial difficulties or are they just making this as an excuse. As a business owner, I personally can’t do such. It is against my conscience and principles but seeing a lot of brand new expensive luxury cars around the metro makes you think twice. Is is really happening?

Mobile phone sales are down to it’s lowest according to a store I interviewed in Greenhills. They had zero sales for the last 2 days — not even a Globe 300 call card load or a 15 peso Smart Buddy load was bought from them.

But again, it maybe just a trend because now, people prefer to invest in netbooks and laptops and use ordinary phones because it is more “economical”. You can earn more using a laptop rather than a mobile phone, don’t you think? You can be a load retailer when you have a phone but, you can do and earn more using a laptop. (like typing jobs, graphic design, web design and more!)

Just the other day, Sony Vaio P was launched here in the Philippines and according to them, it has a limited stock now because of the demand for it. So, are you sure there is a crisis or is this just an excuse?

Since we are living here in the Philippines (a 3rd world), why don’t you check out this 3rd world website?

About 3rd world love:

3rd World Love is a site that champions the 3rd World culture, lifestyle and goods.  It is the brainchild of three individuals (for now!) who love the three-stars-and-a-sun too much

That’s about it. Enjoy :)

twilight in 2D!

I just watched Twilight yesterday and I can say that I liked it better than those who have read the book. They portrayed their characters well and they were good actors. I must also applaud them for the make-up job done.

Anyway, If given the chance to watch it once again, I would. But, I would want to watch it in 2D. Yes, 2D is available in Gateway cinema here in the Philippines. Although I can’t imagine how it’s going to look like, i think this is a must watch for Twilight lovers.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 - Finally here!

I’ve always loved Sony Ericsson mobile phones as you can read it in my previous blogs. This new phone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is another must have very smart phone! I’ve been collecting (not literally) P series but wasn’t able to buy the P1i already because I have a M600i (A bit similar but I know that the P1i is waay lot better. It’s even better than my P990i!)

I’ve come across with this article of Xperia X1 and it makes me need it more. I know feel that it is more of a need than a want!!

Article below from Yehey Gadgets.

Gearheads and the average consumer who have resisted the allure of the trophy wife of smartphones, but are in the market for a phone with a similar lust factor, plus loads more power, might have become believers again in the existence of Santa Claus. In fact, they might even tell you that the jolly old man in the funny red suit is coming a couple of weeks earlier than Christmas Eve—November 28 to be exact, which is when one of the most wildly anticipated mobile phones hits local stores, just in time to pump up the holiday cheer. That phone would be the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, the company’s first foray into the Windows Mobile world that was first unveiled in February at the 2008 Mobile World Congress in Catalonia, Spain. The reveal promptly elicited gasps of unbridled glee from among those in attendance, and thereafter came a slew of blogs that kept tabs of its inexorable march to market release.

What we need in addition to owning mobile 3g hsdpa’s

Well, in terms of mobile broadband here in the Philippines, we get mixed emotions and weather-based comments.

Like now, my Globe HSDPA (which I am not currently using) is ok for me. I used it the wholeday yesterday and it was ok. If you ask me if it reached 1.8mpbs in one point of time, no, it didn’t. The max I got was only from a burst and it was only around 1.2mbps.

I am a subscriber for almost 2 years now and this year would have the less downtime but, speedwise, the slowest. Do you think that the network is being clogged already?

I remembered when I started using Globe Visibility. Almost no one had it or knew such contraption exists. It has such an exclusive feel and the speed was good too.

Currently, I am thinking of getting a Sun cellular mobile broadband for my little brother. But before jumping into another hot water like what I experienced from Globe 2 years back (downtime - everyday!), I will just read around for reviews first.

Anyway, as my topic goes, I hope we can find or you can help me find something like this:
The image “http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/10/10-02-08tmobbsd2.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
According to Engadget,
3G WiFi routers aren’t anything new at this point, but T-Mobile’s new Mobile Broadband Share Dock is one of the slicker implementations we’ve seen from a carrier — the unit consists of a USB HSDPA modem and a base which shares the connection over WiFi, which means you can unplug the modem and take your access on the road.

I don’t think we have this gadget here available in the Philippines. If you know one, can you please post a reply because I’m really interested into getting a van full of people happy while going out-of-town.
