New Showbiz Website in the Philippines - launched!

I would like to personally make a semi-review of it.

From the first time I laid eyes (ang drama) on it, it caught my attention. It has a nice blend of color (Designer ba?), Layout looks similar to a showbiz magazine and best of all, it’s a free source for your entertainment needs!

Here is their logo:

This is one of their articles…

Cesar Montano and Sunshine Cruz were sighted in Podium, Ortigas on January 14, 2009. Just a concrete proof that the two is happily back together again after all the shambles in their married life last year.

Uncommon gadgets but very useful

I was browsing the web when I stumbled-upon this interesting blog titled Unknown cool gadgets most of us would like to have“.

It is true that humans are always seeking for change. Sometimes, for the better, sometimes for for the worst. But whatever it is, I will not give you life lessons here. I am just going to blog about things I found interesting on the net.

Keyboard for all seasons

This water-proof or better called as spill-proof keyboard is a must for those who uses the PC for long hours and does everything in front of it like eating and drinking. Priced at only less than $25 bucks or 950 pesos.

A new addition to the Ultra-mini notebooks

The image “http://www.yehey.com/local/gadgets/images/hp2133.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
Asus eee pc started it all. Then comes Neo Classmate PC. This is the HP 2133. I do not know if they have nicknames for thos but some major specs of this lightweight mini-notebook PC includes: a large 8.9-inch diagonal display, user-friendly full QWERTY keyboard and touch pad, Bluetooth, Wifi, 3D Drive Guard and an optional three-cell or six-cell battery, onboard web cam for video messaging, still-image capture and web conferencing. It is made of anodized aluminum shell with a simple and refined design.

Finally, not a gadget but a will-be remarkable addition to technology. Spores.

This new game was developed by the creator of sims.

“Spore takes nature back to basics with a “god simulator” that lets gamers control a number of organisms, eventually building a society from the evolved little buggers. With no time limits, players create their beings and walk them as long as they wish. They progress through different stages in an attempt to build their ideal breed, giving them their own personality and quirks to make them feel like their own being.”

Updates on new stuffs will be made frequently starting this day onwards.

High-Tech push carts on the way!

High Tech!

http://www.shopperculture.com/shopper_culture/images/2007/09/24/insecurities_laid_bare.jpg

can’t find what you want? Worry no more!

Can’t find those noodles in the supermarket? High-tech shopping carts to be launched in Singapore might show you the way.

Dubbed “MediaCarts”, the carts will be deployed in a pilot project for the first time in Asia at a new branch of Singapore’s Cold Storage supermarket chain to open later this year, a statement said Wednesday.

The carts can sense their location in the store and trigger advertisements for nearby products. Promotional messages are displayed on an LCD screen as the cart is pushed around the store, said a press release from Cold Storage and Media Cart Asia, which is providing the system.

You might end up… bringing home the baco…push cart!

How long does service providers keep text messaging logs?

http://www.piercemattie.com/blogs/text_messaging_lifestlyle.jpg

Millions of fingers scurrying over mobile electronic devices probably paused this week as news emerged of a trove of text messages containing flirty and sexually explicit chat between Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and a top aide. Even those engaging in more wholesome dialogue would be wise to wonder: Do text messages disappear — like oral conversations — or are they permanently logged somewhere for potential retrieval — like e-mail usually is?

“I think people can feel comfortable we’re not storing information that can later be used against them,” Verizon Wireless spokeswoman Erica Sevilla said. “Unless you have something stored on your phone or on a recipients’ phone, it does not stay on our network for a long period.”

AT&T Inc. keeps text messages for up to 72 hours until delivery is successful, spokesman Howard Riefs said. If a message can’t be delivered, it is removed from the system and can’t be retrieved.

New Samsung Slim Fit Computer Monitor

The Samsung CT-21Z58MQ

What is it: The old-reliable CRT television with Samsung’s unique slim-fit aesthetics.

Who’s it for: People looking for a CRT television but conscious about space.

Wallet magnet: 30 percent thinner than the regular 22” CRT television; superior Samsung TV technologies (DNIeJr., signal and color optimizer, detail and contrast enhancers); direct DVD input; turbo sound effect; plug and play.

On second thought: Can they still make it any thinner?

What’s in the box: Samsung CT-21Z58MQ Slim-fit TV; external antenna; antenna adapter; wireless remote; manual and warranty.

Tech Times’ verdict: While LCD expands it market share, Samsung extends the life of the cathode ray tube in an affordable and slim television set that would perfectly fit the interiors of the space-concious.

be like the Terminator.

Contact Lens Computer - Newest technology

Researchers at the University of Washington managed to embed an electronic circuit and LEDs directly into contact lenses, which seemed to look good on rabbit eyes. Though the circuit is not functional and the lights don’t light up, the development shows that future applications like direct video to the eye may indeed be possible.

Building the lenses was a challenge because materials that are safe for use in the body, such as the flexible organic materials used in contact lenses, are delicate. Manufacturing electrical circuits, however, involves inorganic materials, scorching temperatures and toxic chemicals. Researchers built the circuits from layers of metal only a few nanometers thick, about one thousandth the width of a human hair, and constructed light-emitting diodes one third of a millimeter across. They then sprinkled the grayish powder of electrical components onto a sheet of flexible plastic. The shape of each tiny component dictates which piece it can attach to, a microfabrication technique known as self-assembly. Capillary forces — the same type of forces that make water move up a plant’s roots, and that cause the edge of a glass of water to curve upward — pull the pieces into position.

The prototype contact lens does not correct the wearer’s vision, but the technique could be used on a corrective lens, Parviz said. And all the gadgetry won’t obstruct a person’s view.

New Sony “Hand Powered” Digital Camera

http://www.allegromedical.com/images/products/bionicglove1.jpg

Sony on Thursday unveiled a prototype digital camera shaped like a pizza cutter with a wheel that can be turned to generate enough power to take pictures.

The “Twirl N’ Take” camera generates enough electricity for one snap if the the wheel is moved for some 15 seconds, according to a Sony official.

A digital camera similar to those used in mobile phones is installed in a handle attached to the wheel, which is equipped with a power-generating device, she said.

Moving the wheel and taking pictures would appeal to children but the company has no immediate plan to commercialise it, she said.

Sweden’s Dagens Nyheter said Wednesday it had launched the world’s first “newspaper” telephone: a mobile phone offering the daily’s subscribers direct and free access to its website.

“We want our readers to be able to follow the news even when they’re in places where they cannot lay their hands on a paper or (access the Internet on) a computer,” Thorbjoern Larsson, Dagens Nyheter (DN) editor-in-chief and publisher, told AFP.

“This is yet another way of distributing the news,” he added.
