The New Apple LED Macbook (Photo album)

Wow! Equipped with NVIDIA 9400M graphics, this baby is sure to knock you off your feet! They claim that the battery life is up to 5 hours but, I will still wait for futher reviews by other bloggers.

Fancy stuffs include a backlit keyboard, glass trackpad and of course, the glowing apple at the back. It is also said to be 0.5 pounds lighter than his predecessor.

According to Gizmodo,

The base model weighs in at $1299 with a 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor, while $1599 gets you 4GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD. There’s also an SSD option if you’re really looking to splurge. If none of the new speed or style appeals to you, Apple’s also slashing its existing low-end MacBook to $999, which is still a bit steep if you ask us. Hit the jump for a breakdown of the configurations.

This is one gadget that I am looking forward to have. Third apple products actually.
1. Time Capsule
2. iPod
3. Macbook

Hoping to get one from parents although the first one would be purchased, according to my dad, soon.
*Fingers-crossed*

What gadgets does a tycoon use? (Part 14 of 15)

This is part 14 of the 15 people from the Wilson Lee Flores article in Philippine Star.

Atty. Felipe Gozon

The image “http://bgepal.com/images/BGE_pics_FLG.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

The current chief executive and chair of GMA Network Inc., one of the largest media networks in the Philippines.

A lawyer by profession, the Yale-educated Gozon is seen as the network executive who has successfully turned-around GMA from its state as the second-running television network to its current stature, at some point toppling the long-dominant ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation in 2004, 2005 and until today. Under his watch, the network has also experienced stability in terms of revenues, mostly from advertising and other revenue sources.

This is what Apple calls, back to my mac.

This is one of the latest news and technology made by Apple and it sure did become viral after arresting the two thieves who stole a laptop from an Apple employee in westchester county.

Here I am. Deciding if I should change my current gadget. So, Is the New Macbook Air really worth it? After reading a review on Apple’s new Macbook Air, here are some facts that I found out.

iPhone: Available in china

BEIJING - The iPhone can be bought in China, even though Apple Inc. isn’t selling it there and the gadget doesn’t function properly despite costing twice as much as in the United States.

Enthusiasts willing to pay 8,800 yuan ($1,170) can buy the iPhone at electronics markets in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, the computer and electronics newspaper Dian Nao Bao reported in its Monday editions.

In the United States, the combination cell phone-iPod media player can be had for as little as $499. The Chinese version can make calls and send text messages, but it can’t receive calls. The voicemail function also doesn’t work.

Apple is currently selling the iPhone only in the United States, where it’s restricted to AT&T Inc.’s cellular network. Last month, hackers were successful in unlocking the device so that it could be used on other carriers.

Apple spokesman Natalie Kerris said Tuesday the company was not aware of specific reports of its phones being sold in China but said the sales were not authorized.

“We said we would launch the iPhone in Asia in 2008,” she said. “This is not that launch.”

Well, even before the iPhone was released in the US, dozens of cloned look alikes are spreading. As engadget and gizmodo showed their look alikes. now, they are in for the real thing. I wonder if Apple will release it in china if it will be released in asia in 2008…

iPhone 2nd version: Coming in Q4 of 2007?

While analysts have been speculating that Apple may unleash a smaller (and cheaper) handset in the not too distant future in order to grab a sect of market share not interested in the relatively pricey iPhone, the rumors are seeming to gain traction.
According to Kevin Chang, a JP Morgan analyst based in Taiwan, Apple is actually looking to “launch a cheaper version of the iPhone in the fourth quarter that could be based on its iPod nano music player.”
The report cited anonymous sources “in the supply channel” and also referenced the now-famed patent that suggests such a device could be materializing.
Still, we’d highly recommend taking all of this in with a healthy heap of salt for the time being, but don’t be incredibly shocked if your next iPod nano unexpectedly rings while you’re stereotypically browsing through Gorillaz tracks.

iPhone mania…

“I really want to get the iPhone, but I need your help,” begs Omar Correa on his website, buymeaniphone.com, and who has now raised in $355 in donations.

Two weeks before it hits the market, innumerable websites have been launched to discuss the iPhone, with names like iphonefreak.com and everythingiphone.com.

They are already handing out advice on how to camp out in front of stores which will be selling the iPhone, to ensure you are one of the first to get one.

AT&T, which is the sole telecoms carrier authorized for the iPhone, told AFP that it will go on sale on June 29 at 6 p.m. in its 1,800 stores—an unusual hour which could lead to a rapid sellout.

Apple itself will sell the iPhone at its 170 Apple Stores. Other electronics and cell-phone sellers could end up waiting weeks to get a supply.

Neither the high price—$499 or $599, depending on the model—nor the obligation to subscribe to a two-year phone contract with AT&T has shown any sign of discouraging fans.

Just Google the word “iPhone”: it got 71.6 million mentions on Thursday across the web, up from 64.4 million one day earlier.

A website name with “iPhone” in it was even being offered on eBay for $125,000.

Even though they have only seen photographs of the iPhone, many online are already speculating about any discounts, or discussing how they plan to take a day off from work when it’s released. The smallest rumor spreads like wildfire.

Most are hardcore devotees, and they outnumber the online camp pledging to never to buy it.

But in recent days the skeptics have grown, with more targeted criticisms, focused on the iPhone’s lack of a physical keyboard—the user will have to tap out text messages or key in a phone number on the virtual keyboard on the touch screen.

This is one hell of a product. everyone there is waiting for it. I guess iPhone will have a part in the most searched word in the internet starting a few months back until a few months after release. i wonder when this phone will be released here in the Philippines? i will get one of these and il put a review here…

Built-in AirPort Extreme 802.11n

Just about a month-and-a-half after Steve Jobs’s surprisingly unsurprising announcement at the MacWorld Expo in San Francisco that the first two Intel-based Macs to be rolled out would be the iMac and the MacBook Pro—the apparently newly renamed PowerBook—MacBook Pros finally started arriving at eager users’ doorsteps. The six-week gap between announcement and arrival was plenty of time for rumors to grow.
There were rumors that the floor models available at MacWorld were mere prototypes and that the final design of the MacBook Pro was not even finished yet. There were rumors of chip shortages. There were even rumors that excessive demand was driving long shipping delays that apparently no one who had ordered immediately after MacWorld was experiencing whatsoever. Luckily, these rumors appear to have been unsubstantiated, and the MacBook Pro started shipping last week exactly as expected.
Well, there was one exception. A mere day before they were originally slated to start shipping to the masses, Apple bumped the chip speed of both the high- and low-end models of the MacBook Pro from 1.83GHz to 2.0GHz and from 1.67GHz to 1.83GHz, respectively (with a 2.16GHz version available for built-to-order machines). While mystifying, no one was arguing with that, even if it did push everyone’s shipping back by one more week.
That said, they’re all finally rolling out, with the 2.0GHz versions shipping first and then the 1.83GHz versions in short pursuit. Here at the Orbiting HQ, we acquired a 1.83GHz MacBook Pro for review and have had an eventful time doing so.
“Apple’s notebooks have always led the industry in innovation withfeatures like built-in 802.11 and the MagSafe Power Adapter, and nowthe industry’s first 15-inch LED-backlit display is another steptoward completely eliminating mercury from our displays.”
Designed for mobile professionals, the MacBook Pro includes a built-iniSight video camera for video conferencing on-the-go, Apple’s MagSafePower Adapter that magnetically connects the power cord to the MacBookPro and safely disconnects when under strain, and the latestgeneration of 802.11n wireless networking for up to five times theperformance and twice the range of 802.11g. Every new MacBook Pro alsoincludes built-in 10/100/1000 BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet for high-speednetworking, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate), a FireWire(R) 800and a FireWire 400 port, a backlit illuminated keyboard, an ExpressCard/34 expansion card slot for expansion solutions such as 3G wireless networking, and a DVI video output to connect up to a 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Display.
The MacBook Pro comes with iLife ‘06, the next generation of Apple’saward-winning suite of digital lifestyle applications featuringiPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD, GarageBand and iWeb. The MacBook Pro alsocomes with the latest release of the world’s most advanced operatingsystem, Mac OS(R) X version 10.4.9 Tiger, including Safari, Mail,iCal, iChat AV, Front Row and Photo Booth.

Al Gore: Apple lover

We all know former-VP Al Gore loves his Apple gear. Besides sitting on Cupertino’s board of directors, he was happy to be shown toting his then-PowerBook around giving that wacky Academy Award-winning Keynote presentation of his. But today in Time’s photo essay of his life, we got to see another side of Al Gore: gadget junkie. It’s not too often you catch a glimpse of these high profile figures’ inner info-sanctums, but we’re not at all disappointed in how he holds court over the internet kingdom legend holds he created. From here it looks like the dude’s all hooked up with a triple-head 30-inch Cinema Display rig (daaaamn!), what appears to be a Sharp HDTV on the wall (we’re gonna guess that’s a LC-32D7U), Humanscale Freedom ergo-chair, and an iPod (didn’t the President, who owns one, help develop ‘em?), whose box sits up in his shelf. Not to get all political and stuff, but surely this office, messy though it may be, is a step up from Bush’s humbler means of input, no?
—-
We all know what he fights for, Global Warming. If you have watched inconvinient truth, he is using his apple laptop for his presentations. im not trying to integrate here apple and global warming. i would just like to get this chance to warn people about global warming.
right now, we can feel the effects of global warming, floods as high as ever, strong typhoons, tornadoes, disaster is everywhere. we cant feel it much because as Al Gore said in the movie The Inconvenient Truth, “We are like this frog, when immersed in hot water, we jump out, so we will not get burned. but if the frog jumps in the luke-warm water, and slowly turned the heat up, the frog will just sit there… sit there.. until it will be so hot that the frog will… get saved” if its not too late, the frog will get saved. i encourage all of you to watch that movie. your eyes will be opened. i have watched that movie for 5 times already and im going to watch it more. spread the word. help stop prevent global warming.
