3mm TV's!

Japan electronics giant Sony Corporation recently announced that it will launch the world's first OLED ultra thin flat television in December. Sony's OLED or organic light-emitting diode technology-based TVs will compete directly with Samsung and Toshiba models.

OLED's emissive electroluminescent layer is comprised of a film of organic compounds and is said to be more energy efficient and, unlike LCD, OLED doesn't require backlight to function.

The company first unveiled the prototype 11-inch OLED TV during the Consumer Electronics Show last January with a model featuring a native resolution of 1,024 by 600 pixels and using 8-bit per channel RGB color screen and offers a contrast ratio greater than a million-to-one contrast. Its all-white brightness is 200cdm, peaking at more than 600cdm.

Last May, it showed a video of a 2.5 inch flexible OLED screen, giving more proof of its seriousness in coming up with OLED TVs in the market.

The 11-inch OLED TV with an unbelievable size of only 3 mm will have a tag price of $1,740. Sony will package its upcoming OLED TVs as portable televisions.

But I bet, this would emit lots of negative ions that are not good for the human body. Im not sure though, they have to test it to prove it.

PSP slim. Whats the BIG deal?

http://www.gamepro.com/gamepro/domestic/games/news/images/122128-2-1.jpg

So, What to expect in a Slimmer PSP? Cool

- It is actually not that slim but, it is slimmer, sleeker and looks better than the original PSP version.

- It has an AV output for video and game playback on TVs.

While it may not be a must-have upgrade for existing PSP owners, a host of subtle improvements make the latest Sony PSP (aka the PSP 2000) an even better deal for anyone looking for a solid portable gaming and multimedia device.

How do you discourage yourself from buying this gadget? Surprised

- Still, a Fingerprint magnet because of the glossy finish it has, like the original PSP.

-  Screen is still too reflective. (Thanks again to its glossy outer finish.)

- UMD load times still poky compared to Flash-based DS games.

- USB charging option is cumbersome
