Everything has an immitation…even cars…!? smart car!

Yeah, cellphones, media players and logo’d clothing items are all well and good, but if you really want to stand out in China’s competitive market of highly commercial disregard for intellectual property, you’ve gotta think big. That’s why we’re so impressed by CMEC, who not only managed to rip off an entire car, but are also sneaking their electric version of the Smart Car into one of Smart’s own favored markets — Great Britain. While externally the “City Smart” from CMEC is virtually identical to the Fortwo model that inspired it, CMEC modded up the interior a bit to avoid legal woes: “When we designed the car we were aware that we might be opening ourselves up to legal action,” sez Jerry Chen, sales manager for CMEC. “That’s why we’ve imitated the outside but concentrated on making the interior look different.” Um, right. Their electric motor is also quite a departure from the real Smart cars, and while its 34MPH top-speed won’t have it venturing far from congested city streets, it’s hard to complain about the 4,200 euro ($5,270 US) pricetag. Well, other than the incredibly shady legality of the whole affair. DaimlerChrysler, parent company of Smart, is currently doing its darnedest to keep the City Smart out of the rest of Europe, while they prep their own Fortwo successor that most certainly will cost more than $5k, but is also more likely to involve certain niceties like original design and at least a teensy bit of pep.

Thats how good their technology is. so high tech that they can immitate anything they want. it might not have the same quality but, they have their own way of testing quality. up to their standards maybe. I went to China personally a few years back and saw a lot of immitation stuffs. cars, i will mention in particular because this articles is about a cloned smart car.
I saw, a rav4 cloned, another, the front is a BMW x5, but the back part looks exactly like the 2002 honda crv. what a fusion! I will try to search for my photos of those cars.

even sex goes high-tech

The Japanese love technology so much that now even sex toys are on the cutting edge.

The “gPod,” a phallic-shaped vibrator, is designed to respond automatically to sounds picked up by an accompanying handset, which can plug into anything from a telephone to a music player to a television.

The 25,000-yen ($200) gPod was one of a number of toys that went on public view Friday at Japan’s first sex toy expo in suburban Tokyo.

“You can use it in many ways, for example hooking it up to your mobile phone,” said Ichiro Kameda, the machine’s inventor.

“The dildo vibrates through the same waves as a voice. So one of the ideas is that you can use it here in Tokyo when your boyfriend in New York is talking to you on the phone.”

Kameda said he had spent four years trying to design a product when he hit upon the concept. He declined to say how the idea came to him.

Australia’s Airline, Qantas. Hi-tech in the skies!

Just when most other airlines and airplane manufacturers are removing in-flight internet access, Qantas goes the exact opposite direction (into our hearts) and adds internet access. The A380 and 747-400 planes that will make up their web-enabled fleet will have both Wi-Fi and a charging slot to plug your laptop into. Not much else here in the way of pricing or availability, but expect a lofty surcharge if you want to get a seat with both outlets, an Ethernet port, USB ports, and a 17-inch built-in LCD. Service starts in February 2008, but you’ll be getting sub-dialup speeds as everyone clown-cars into a 432kbps connection.

Yahoo Messenger (IM) made for Filipinos

Guys, I personally have been using Instant Messenger(IM) all my life. sometimes, yahoo messenger is down and I use this new IM service as an alternative. but recently, they updated it. I wont share this is if its just a plain IM (message me- message you feature.)

This version of IM is made for pinoys. it is called Yehey TOL. Whats cool for me is, they have this salakot man, they really made it for pinoys. imagine, does japan has their own like this? anyway, it has 3d avatars.

Thats just a part of the cool thing. another cool thing is, I personally got to try out a new feature that even Yahoo messenger and MSN messenger doesnt have. Its called WEBCAM driven 3d AVATARS. when you talk, your avatar talks as well! When you move your head, wink, smile, anything – They have a unique webcam facial tracking software allow your avatar to move with you!

Thats whats cool! I personally have tried it out myself. When they release the final version, its time for 3d chatting (other features are also listed in that website like VOiP etc….)!!!

for other info, which I dont know how to answer because I am just also trying that out, just visit, read the frequently asked questions section and download the Yehey TOL. Just search for “Yehey TOL” in google or yahoo. the link will appear.

Pinoy ako kaya love my own hahaha… By the way, pwede rin kasi YM dun… hehe…:P alam nyo kasi, pinoy, hindi nagpapahuli. Even if you dont try this out now, next time, you will hear your friends talking about this also…

Toshiba recalls batteries

TOKYO - Toshiba Corp. said Thursday it would recall 5,100 potentially flammable laptop computer batteries made by Sony Corp., which suffered widespread problems with its lithium-ion batteries last year.

Toshiba is recalling batteries for five different models of laptop computers as there were three reports of batteries catching fire between last September and June, although no one was hurt, said Toshiba spokesman Keisuke Omori.

Toshiba laptops using the batteries have been sold in Japan, the United States, Europe and the rest of Asia, he said.

The batteries are a different type to the more than 800,000 Sony-made batteries already recalled by Toshiba, he said.

Sony was hit last year by recalls of about 9.6 million of its batteries by computer makers including Apple Computer, Dell, Leveno, Toshiba and Fujitsu because of fears they could catch fire.

A Sony spokesman said Thursday the electronics giant would cooperate closely with Toshiba in investigating the cause of the battery problem.
