The 7-inch Asus Eee PC killer

The image “http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/05/3k-razorbook-1.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

With an elegant look and a small build, it really is what defines a laptop computer. This is what we call, portable. With these specs, it really would go head-on with the Asus Eee PC.

  • 7-inch WVGA LCD Display (800 × 400)
  • 400-MHz 32-bit Single Core Mobile Processor (by Ingenic)
  • 512MB DDR2 memory
  • 4GB flash drive
  • Linux OS
  • WLAN
  • 3 USB ports
The processor seems a bit shady though. So, will this beat the Asus Eee PC or will this just be considered a knock-off?

Internet for politics in May 2010 Philippine elections

In the near May 2010 Philippine Elections, the internet, is now one of the sources of votes according to an article.

I also believe in that. Personally, the internet industry is on the way up. Since this is the easiest way to reach people around the world compared to TV ads, newspapers ads and magazine ads, more politiians are opting to put a more money than we expected in online advertisements.

For me, you don't have to go through all these expensive media agencies. I suggest that politicians who would want to corner the internet niche market, should go to an all-in-one ad media agency. yehey.com, for example is an all-in-one media agency because firstly, it is a search engine turned marketing giant in the Philippines. They will do everything for you and with their experience as being the number one Filipino search engine in the country for decades, they surely know what they do.

In other mediums, we are pretty sure that ABS-CBN and GMA will bag the most advertisers as they are the gurus in their line of industry.

Just one note to all politicians. Use your funds well and make sure that your funds ain't coming from unwanted illegal sources.

Google maps questioned in China

China has launched an investigation into online mapping services by Internet giants including Google and Sohu in an effort to protect state secrets and territorial integrity, state press said.

According to Min Yiren, vice head of the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, authorities hope to get rid of online maps that wrongly depict China's borders or that reveal military secrets, the People's Daily said Monday.

The government began the investigation into the problematic maps in April and will continue it until the end of the year, the report said.

Min cited five areas of concern, with the redrawing of China's borders and placing disputed territory outside the nation the top priority, it said.

Such areas of dispute include Taiwan, the Spratlys and Paracels island chains in the South China Sea and the Diaoyu Islands in the East China Sea, it said.

A reason to get kids to have flu shots

Xbox kiosks will be soon made available to hospitals.

Pre-loaded with a variety of E and E10+ rated games, Y-rated television programs, G-rated movies, as well as Xbox LIVE Headset and LIVE Vision Camera capabilities, which enable patients to communicate over a dedicated Xbox LIVE network.

From OhGizmo

This is a great way to "push" and give initiative to those stubborn boys and girls you have. They will be excited to play there but if you own one, then this wouldn't work a bit.

Also a nice marketing tool for hospitals and doctors who has clinics inside. I wonder if we can apply it here in the Philippines? Will those gadgets be safe and be well taken care of?

Suicide tips off the web

http://img.alibaba.com/photo/11148555/Dvs_6000_Hydrogen_Sulphide_Scavenger.jpgThe Japanese police moved Wednesday to stop a string of suicides using detergent, asking Internet providers to remove information on how to generate the deadly gas.

In the first action by police following dozens of suicides using hydrogen sulphide, the National Police Agency filed an official request with the Internet industry, telecommunications companies and cable broadcasters.

"Generating hydrogen sulphide is not illegal under current laws, but the risk is high for third parties to inhale the gas and, in worst case scenarios, die," a police statement said.

However, Internal Affairs Minister Hiroya Masuda, who oversees communication, told reporters that the government would not intervene against the websites, saying such intervention would constitute "excessive restrictions on freedom of expression."

Hydrogen sulfide (or hydrogen sulphide) is the chemical compound with the formula H2S. This colorless, toxic and flammable gas is responsible for the foul odour of rotten eggs and flatulence.

It often results from the bacterial break down of organic matter in the absence of oxygen, such as in swamps and sewers (anaerobic digestion). It also occurs in volcanic gases, natural gas and some well waters. The odor of H2S is commonly misattributed to elemental sulfur, which is in fact odorless. Hydrogen sulfide has numerous names, some of which are archaic

Uncommon gadgets but very useful

I was browsing the web when I stumbled-upon this interesting blog titled "Unknown cool gadgets most of us would like to have".

It is true that humans are always seeking for change. Sometimes, for the better, sometimes for for the worst. But whatever it is, I will not give you life lessons here. I am just going to blog about things I found interesting on the net.

Keyboard for all seasons

The image “http://www.yehey.com/local/gadgets/images/geniusslimstar.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

This water-proof or better called as spill-proof keyboard is a must for those who uses the PC for long hours and does everything in front of it like eating and drinking. Priced at only less than $25 bucks or 950 pesos.

A new addition to the Ultra-mini notebooks

The image “http://www.yehey.com/local/gadgets/images/hp2133.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
Asus eee pc started it all. Then comes Neo Classmate PC. This is the HP 2133. I do not know if they have nicknames for thos but some major specs of this lightweight mini-notebook PC includes: a large 8.9-inch diagonal display, user-friendly full QWERTY keyboard and touch pad, Bluetooth, Wifi, 3D Drive Guard and an optional three-cell or six-cell battery, onboard web cam for video messaging, still-image capture and web conferencing. It is made of anodized aluminum shell with a simple and refined design.

Finally, not a gadget but a will-be remarkable addition to technology. Spores.

This new game was developed by the creator of sims.

"Spore takes nature back to basics with a "god simulator" that lets gamers control a number of organisms, eventually building a society from the evolved little buggers. With no time limits, players create their beings and walk them as long as they wish. They progress through different stages in an attempt to build their ideal breed, giving them their own personality and quirks to make them feel like their own being."

Updates on new stuffs will be made frequently starting this day onwards.

How to save gas? (An article from another blog)

Why now is the right time to save gas

One very good reason: Gas is a limited resource.

"You will learn in this article how to save gas." -Me

http://www.msa.org.mt/ecolabel/images/frontpic.gif
I remember way back in elementary when my Dad would gas up and a full tank of a regular 1.5 sedan only cost Php 250 more or less. And that sustained a week of driving (house-school-office-school-house). Those were the good old days.

Honda Cars Philippines in partnership with Petron and the Department of Energy challenged motoring journalists and some of the greatest drivers of the country to a race on saving gas through the 2008 Honda Challenge Cup – Media Edition. This was a race not of speed, but of best mileage on a liter of gasoline. The ultimate goal was to save on gas.

The groups were briefed by Honda Cars on the rules and regulation of the race and discussed the many tips on how to save gas.

The Race

On April 25, 2008, Friday, 10 a.m., the groups reported to UCC Cafe for more briefing and to get their race kits containing the map/direction of the race.

There were 2 legs in the competition: The city driving leg – from Petron C5 to Makati to Petron NLEX; and the Highway driving – from Petron NLEX to Petron Clark, Pampanga.

Find out the results of the race, how much gas consumption each team used up and complete details of what happend at

Online auctions: Filling up with prized possesions

From AP

NEW YORK - The for-sale listings on the online hub Craigslist come with plaintive notices, like the one from the teenager in Georgia who said her mother lost her job and pleaded, "Please buy anything you can to help out."

Or the seller in Milwaukee who wrote in one post of needing to pay bills — and put a diamond engagement ring up for bids to do it.

Struggling with mounting debt and rising prices, faced with the toughest economic times since the early 1990s, Americans are selling prized possessions online and at flea markets at alarming rates.

To meet higher gas, food and prescription drug bills, they are selling off grandmother's dishes and their own belongings. Some of the household purging has been extremely painful — families forced to part with heirlooms.

Times are getting harder but we must not forget that, God is bigger than all of those problems.
